Functional Testing for VoIP based application

Rebaca has been involved in testing of a NMS Software for Carrier-Class VoIP solution. NMS Software controls the proprietary SIP Gateway and the integrated Voice gateway for high end Class 5 type of switch. It is a web-based application which supports standards-based management via SNMPv3 and XML interfaces and tool sets. The product is a centralized network architecture-managing multiple Intelligent Voice Gateway (iVg) and Proxy7 Signaling Gateway systems as though they were a single switch.

Scope:

  • Understanding Product Requirement document

  • Setting up test Environment, which involved configuring an automation framework that was used to create QTPro and Tcl scripts

  • Development of Tcl and QTPro scripts for regression testing of the PreVision application

  • Functional and GUI testing of the PreVision application by running automated test scripts that were compiled in Tcl and QTPro

  • Manual testing performed through the PreVision User Interface for verifying various statistics and log files that were generated by this application

  • Changing network settings to force error conditions, and to verify the bahviour of the application

  • Monitoring call traffic generated by the Abacus – a bulk call generation tool

  • Bug Reporting and Tracking to Client’s Bug DB via VPN
